Hidden Costs Amenities

With any event - any venue, any caterer - it can seem like the costs add up quickly. What you don't see in the other pages on our site, and what out past clients have enjoyed, are the hidden amenities we provide at no additional cost.

Set-Up / Clean-Up With the exception of decorations that you wish to provide yourself, WE take care of all the heavy lifting. We set up everything including the tables and chairs, put on (freshly ironed) tablecloths; and any rented overlays, chair covers, bows, and centerpieces. We clean up all the food, dishes, tables, etc. at the end - and pack up any leftovers for you to take home. All you need to do is show up at the beginning and take off when your event is over.

Cake Cutting We do not charge fees for cake cutting.

Decorations We charge for a handful of decorative items, such as our own centerpieces, chair covers and table overlays (and if you spent the time ironing them, putting them on, taking them off, and washing them, you'd think we were undercharging). But there are many items that we provide free of charge, such as the lighted curtains (a great backdrop for the head/sweetheart table), shelves, easels, picture stands, a cage for wedding or birthday cards, round mirrors to use as bases under your own centerpieces, candelabras for a unity candle ceremonies, "Mr & Mrs" decor (we have two sets in order to accommodate other combinations), and bridal chair covers (for showers). This year we blew the dust off of an 9' x 12' beach mural that we used to set up at Jimmy Buffett concerts and used it as a picture background for a Jamaican-themed shower. This, too, can be used at no additional cost.

Music Even in a crowded room, background silence can be deafening. We have a subscription to Sirius XM Business, which allows us to play their stations witout having to worry about royalties. This is certainly no substitute for a DJ or band, but it can provide appropriate background music for parties, showers, and wakes where a DJ's services aren't required. We also use this to provide music before the DJ or band begins, and as they're packing up their equipment after the event (and you're either taking down decorations you brought, or just saying goodbye to your final guests). There's no additional charge for using this service - you just need to pick a channel from the available options.

Guest WiFi We'll post the password to our Springfield-Guest WiFi network at several places around the hall. You can select your own password, or we can pick one that's easy to enter and appropriate to the occassion.

Audio/Video Services Would you like to have a slideshow during your event or play videos or home movies? Display a Powerpoint presentation for a meeting? We have two 10-foot projection screens, a 65" flat screen above the DJ stand, and a 35" flat screen available - and the capability to display something different on each of them if needed. They're located and angled so that no matter where you are in the hall you have a good view of at least one of them. For input, you can use a computer, thumb or external drive on our computer, and/or DVD. We also have a nice stained-wood podium, and four cordless microphones for toasts, speeches, presentations, etc. In the podium is a wireless HDMI transmitter - plug the provided HDMI cable into your laptop (on the podium) and you'll be tied into our AV system while keeping your laptop on-hand (all the easier to change pages in Powerpoint). We'll work with you to get whatever you need up and running.
