Reynolds-Zimmerman Wedding
March 5, 2022

Congratulations, Jordan Reynolds and Mary Zimmerman!

The happy couple and their guests traveled all the way from the Lancaster and neighboring areas. They christened our new parking lot (but I was too busy to think to take pictures of the full lot), and since we expected around 166 guests we also ran the parking shuttle to the satellite lot at Coal Region Auto Sales & Service.

The 90-minute ceremony was held in the hall. Normally with ceremonies in the hall most guests sit at their tables, but with one this long they preferred more traditional seating. The tables were moved to the side and back to make room for the chairs, and after the ceremony we quickly moved the tables into position, placed the water glasses and carafes of ice water on each, and the guests helped us move the chairs into place. Our team was *amazing*, and we couldn't have had the great success we did without them!

Rather than a traditional wedding cake, they chose to have smaller cakes as the centerpieces of each table. Rita's Bakeshop made these delicious cakes, which matched the flower decor provided by the groom.

Dinner was served family-style, and started with a garden salad with ranch and white balsamic shallot vinaigrette dressings, and brioche and sweet wheat rolls from Spring Street Bakery with butter and our signature herbed cheese spread. This was followed by herb crusted roast beef, roasted turkey breast, Syracuse salt potatoes, and green beans with butter.

Chairs set up for the ceremony.
Tables set up to the side and back to provide space for ceremony seating.
The groom was a decorating machine the day before the wedding! And Rita's cake centerpieces complemented the decor, as well as providing a perfect ending for the meal. Some tables couldn't even wait for the dessert plates, forks, and cake servers before digging in.

Coming from a Mennonite community, alcohol was off the menu. We removed all the bottles from behind the bar, and wrapped the wine- and beer-themed art from the bar and in the mens room. To save space on the floor, we set up our beverage table on the bar - coffee, decaf, tea, iced tea, lemonade, and pitchers of soda.

Ready for dinner!
54 lbs of beef, rubbed with butter and herbs. We bought this wonderful convection oven from Home Community Church in Mt Carmel, which was formerly Lazarski's Banquet Hall (a bit of local catering heritage).
Our new parking lot in use! THANKS to our neighbor Joe Willis for providing this!
