Anthracite Summit
May 7, 2019

We were honored to host the 3rd annual Anthracite Economic Summit, which was focussed on developing strategies and partnerships to help revitalize the area. Sponsors included Campus Compact, Members Choice Federal Credit Union, Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA), Brewser's SportsGrille, Geisinger Health Systems, Bloomsburg University, Bucknell University, Susquehanna University, and the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce (GSVCC).

The hall was set up for a classroom-style event, with the 10' projector in the front displaying a powerpoint presentation (as well as the 65" tv above the DJ booth, so the presenter didn't have to keep turning to see what was on the screen), and a 10' projector near the bar to display a slideshow of the event's sponsors. The podium has a wireless HDMI transmitter in it, so the presenter could easily plug in their laptop and tap their display into the hall's AV system. All four of our wireless microphones were used, which made it easy for everyone to hear the presentations. After the initial presentations, people were separated into three, and then later four, breakout groups to focus on individual topics. We catered a light continental breakfast, followed by salad and sandwiches for lunch.

The room was set up for 80 people, and I believe we hit 75 (including Chris Grego from The News Item - see his article here: click here).

Again, the parking shuttle and satellite parking lot along the Springfield exit off of route 61 (provided to us by Josh Kalinowski of Coal Region Sales & Service) was a great help with reducing the impact of the event on the residents around the hall.
